I've been reading blogs for quite some time now, mostly Christian living blogs and money saving blogs, such as Moneywise Moms, Mrs. Moneysaver, Money Saving Mom. Last December (2009), I saw a giveaway linky on Money Saving Mom and had some time to kill. I figured I would just enter a couple for the heck of it to pass the time. The giveaways were surprisingly easy to enter and I get addicted to things very easily, so I decided I would try to enter as many giveaways on the list that I could. Well, the list just kept getting longer and longer as the day went on and there were as least 400 giveaways on the list. I didn't enter them all, but definitely entered a lot of them. A few days later I received an email from Jolly Mom telling me that I had won her giveaway for a Duncan Hines gift basket. And that is where the addiction began...
I receiving the gift basket a week later and continued winning and receiving other items, which only encouraged me to enter more giveaways. You see, I thought my chances of winning weren't really that great, which is pretty silly considering I'm a mathematician and can figure out what my chances of winning are for most of these giveaways. And they are actually pretty good odds when you consider these blog giveaways compared to most other giveaways/sweepstakes/contests you come across these days.
Almost a year later, I've decided I would post about some of those wins, my thoughts and experiences with them and some more honest reviews of the products and blogs than I've been able to find out there.
Blog giveaways tend to have really great odds, and I would encourage everyone to give it a shot. You can win some really great stuff and try out some brand new products.
